Limousin reach the top at Easter Monday Tully Elite Sale
Limousin achieved the top three prices at the Elite bull sale at the Tully performance station in Tully on Easter Monday.
Top price on the day of €15000 went to Milbrook Filio bred by William and John Smith of Oldcastle Co Meath. The Smiths are celebrating 25 years of breeding Limousin cattle and what a fitting way to mark this milestone. Filio an embryo calf sired by the successful sire Sauvignon and by a homebred dam Kathryn with an impeccable pedigree including Broadmeadows Cannon , Talent and Milbrook Freda.
With a SBV of €144 and a good balance in the different traits combined with being tbe breed Champion of the test this extremely stylish bull had created much pre sale interest and indeed he didn’t disappoint when in the ring.Bidding was steady with a few customers in the race up to €10000 however it was down to two customers and eventually Filio was purchased by Northern Ireland breeder Mr Gerry Moane, Co. Fermanagh.
