Herds Competition
Entry forms are available from the Society Office for the hugely successful and highly regarded Herds Competition. Closing date extended to Friday June 17th. All entries must be on a signed and completed entry form.
Male & Female of the Year 2011

- A) Male of the Year: Males born after the 1st of September 2009
- B) Senior Female of the Year: Females born before the 1st of September 2009
- C) Junior Female of the Year: Females born on or after the 1st of September 2009

National Heifer Championships
This is confined to heifers born into the Irish Limousin Herd Book. These Championships are being held at a venue sepetate from the National Championships.
This year the venue is Elphin on Saturday September 3rd.
The venues for subsequent years will be Virginia in 2012, Tinahely in 2013, Cappamore in 2014 and Rathdowney in 2015
2011 Classes are as follows
- The National Limousin Senior Heifer Championship Senior Heifer born on/between 01.01.2009 and 31.08.2009
- The National Intermediate Limousin Heifer Championship Intermediate Heifer born on/ between 01.09.2009 and 31.12.2009
- The National Junior Limousin Heifer Championship Junior Heifer born on/between 01.01.2010 and 31.08.2010
Animals participating are not allowed partake in the shows normal Limousin classes.
The Limousin Society will sponsor two Commercial Breeding Heifer Classes (Limousin Sire) at Elphin.
National Show (National Championships)
The Irish Limousin National Championships will be held at Tullamore on Sunday August 14th 2011.

Class 1 Bull born before 1st May 2009Class 2 Bull born between 1st May 09 and 30th April 2010
Class 3 Bull born between 1st May 10 and 14th August 10
Class 4 Bull born between 15th August 10 and 31st October 10 (All IRL Calf)
Class 5 Bull born between 1st November 10 and 31st December 10 (All IRL Calf)
Class 6 Bull born in 2011 (All IRL Calf)
Senior and Junior Males
Class 7 Senior Cow, in calf or in milk, born before 1st January 2008 (having had a calf born in 2011)
Class 8 Junior Cow, in calf or in milk, born in 2008 (having had a calf born in 2011)
Class 9 Uncalved Senior Heifer born between 1st Aug 08 to 31st December 2008
Class 10 Heifer born between 1st January 09 and 30th June 09
Class 11 Heifer born between 1st July 09 and 31st March 10
Class 12 Heifer born between 1st April 10 and 14th August 10
Class 13 Heifer born between 15th August 10 and 31st October 10 (All IRL Calf)
Class 14 Heifer born between 1st Nov 10 and 31st December 10 (All IRL Calf)
Class 15 Heifer born in 2011 (All IRL Calf)

Champion and Reserve
A National Show Top Exhibitor Award will go to the exhibitor who amasses the most points on the day, points will be awarded as follows
- Participation in a Class 1 point
- Sixth 2 points
- Fifth 3 points
- Fourth 4 points
- Third 5 points
- Second 6 points
- First 7 points
Young Members Association

French National Show
The Society are organising a trip to the French National Show in Clemont Ferrand on the 5th and 6th of October 2011.
The provisional itinerary is as follows Mon Oct 3rd Depart and Farm Visit
Tue Oct 4th Farm and Performance Stations Visits
Wed Oct 5th Clemont Ferrand Show
Thur Oct 6th Clemont Ferrand Show and Return
