Following the trend that has been evident this spring and similar to the previous sale at the same venue the Limousin breed continued to trade well in the Kilkenny Agricutural Society sale with an average price of €2500 and 100% clearance.
Topping the trade at €3500 and indeed the top price of the entire sale was Trevor Masterson, Galbally, Enniscorthy Co Wexford with Galbally Eirwin . By the UK sire Wilodge Tonka and a home bred dam Galbally V 290 by the French sire Ferry, Eirwan was purchased by Mr Denis Fitzpatrick, Rosenallis, Co Laois.
Selling at €3350 was Cornagher Fling from Pat Beirne Kilcock, Co Kildare , this Tartar B son and by Cornagher Bethel, a Lino daughter, sold to Mr William Treacy, Portlaoise.
Following on from his success earlier in the week at the Premier sale in Roscrea Colclough Byrne, Kilbride Co Wicklow received €3250 for his Fieldsons Alfy entry Ballinaclare Frank. By a homebred dam with breeding back to Moloskey Vince and Ballinahinch Ursula, Frank heads to Mr Harry Condell, Clogrennan Co Carlow.
Hugh Murray, Moate Co Westmeath saw his Redstone Rossini sired Shiloh Ewing ET selling at €2900 to Mr Sean Devery, Clara, Co Offaly. Shiloh Ewing ET is by the Ferry sired dam Ballyfin Sabrina ET.
Alan Borton Newbridge Co Kildare saw his Ulm sired entry Brookfield Clint selling at €2800 to Mr Keith Prestage, Arklow Co Wicklow. Clint is by the Ronick Iceman dam Liscarn Belinda .
