Irish Limousin cattle were prominent at last weeks Highland Show situated at Ingliston, Edinburgh. With glorious sun shine and a large Irish contingent present to witness some excellent cattle on display it was pleasing to see an Irish bred bull Ardglasson Highlander come through one of the largest junior male classes to be awarded the red rosette and later in the day took the Reserve Male Champion under Welsh judge Mr. Meirion Thomas of the Nebo pedigree herd.

Ardglasson Highlander bred by Mrs Fiona Gilsenan, Ardglassan House, Crossakiel, Kells Co. Meath  had been purchased at the Irish Limousin Premier Bull sale at Roscrea mart in May where he had stood Junior Male Champion and subsequently went on to sell for €8000 to the judge on the day Mr Dougie McBeath and his partner Ms Sarah Jessop. Bred from a home bred dam Ardglasson Daisy with breeding which includes Pelletstown Newman and Lino and sired by the prominent Fieldson Alfy, Highlander has a long list of previous awards including first prizewinner at the National Show in Tullamore in 2012, he had also picked up red rosettes at three other summer shows along with a number of Reserve Champion awards.
