Millbrook Ginger Spice progeny and Irish breeding to the fore at the Royal Highland
The prolific show cow Millbrook Ginger Spice continued to achieve accolades on the show circuit when her progeny excelled at the prestigious 2017 Royal Highland Show. Gingerspice who is a Wilodge Vantastic daughter and by Millbrook Baby, a Brookmill Usefull daughter is owned by Mr. William Smith of the renowned Millbrook herd based at Oldcastle ,Co. Meath.
Three embryos by Millbrook Gingerspice and Ampertaine Elgin, had been sold to the acclaimed Grahams herd of Robert Graham, Bridge of Allan, Stirling and these three, Grahams Melody, Grahams Malibu and Grahams Michael were entered in this year’s Highland show.
Grahams Melody was placed first in the youngest heifer class of the day by the judge Mr. Gary Swindlehurst of the Proctors herd. Standing in second position in the same class was her herd mate Grahams Malibu.
Then in the first of the male classes the much admired Grahams Michael was also placed first in a strong class.
In the following class Redhead & Watson saw their Irish bred entry Powerful Louis taking the red rosette. Louis was bred by well- known Cavan breeder Philip Crowe, Ballinagh and is by Powerhouse Italic and Goldies Venus.
Millbrook Gingerspice then achieved another notable milestone in her career when her son Grahams Michael came forward out of the youngest male class of the day to be crowned the 2017 Royal Highland Limousin Male Champion
