The 4th Spring Sale for the Irish Limousin Cattle Society took place in Fermoy Mart on Saturday 25th April 2009. This saw a modest number of 18 bulls being offered for sale on the day in conjunction with a sale of 69 high quality suckler replacement heifers.
The show was judged by Emer Byrne, Ballyquirke, Co. Kilkenny with her champion male going to Timothy Corridan, Fedamore, Co. Limerick and Reserve Champion going to Bobby Ryan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Topping the days trade at €2,300 was show champion, “Roundhill Carlsberg 1053 ET” from the herd of Timothy Corridan, Fedamore, Co. Limerick. This Imperial son born in October 2007 was by a Geant daughter Glenisla Susanne. He boasted a high docility indexed of 125 and was purchased by breeder Eamonn Fitzgerald, Cahir, Co. Tipperary for his Coolroe Limousin Herd.

Next best call of €2,000 went to Brian Cronin, Mallow, Co. Cork for “Glounreigh Danny” a January 2008 Nino son out of a Meelon Gregory dam. He was purchased by Michael O’Brien, Ballyduff, Co. Waterford.
Female Champion, “Sliabh Felim Dolly” from Sean Ryan, Cappamore, Co. Limerick failed to meet her reserve and was unsold on the day. This January 2008 born heifer was by Millbrook Tanko and out of Malibu dam, Sliabh Felim Uneen.
