The highly regarded and hugely successful Ardlea & Elite Pedigree Limousin Herds held a production sale on Saturday October 1st in Roscrea Mart.
The well attended sale was of interest to Irish and overseas breeders alike, with also interest from the commercial sector. 55 excellently turned out females were offered for sale achieving a 77% clearance with six going for export. The average price was €2,556.
The top price was €6,000 going to lot 32, Ardlea Fasset, an April 2010 born heifer by Vision out of Ardlea Bon Bon. This heifer had excellent size, length and docility.

Lot 2 €4,000 for a 1997 born Faignant cow with an Elite Abel calf at foot and back in calf.
Lot 50 €4,200 for Ardlea Fatastic born November 2010 by Ampertaine Commander out of a Lino cow Elite Uget.
Lot 39 €4,000 Ardlea Fern a lovely May 2010 born heifer, by Vision and out of an Nenuphar Dam Bremore Ubelieve. Both Dam and Grand Dam Bremore Lady were National Champions.
Lot 45 €3,500 Ardlea Friel born September 2010 sired by Sympa and again grand daughter of Bremore Lady.
Lot 43 €3,200 Elite Freeda July 2010 born by Carlisle record priced Haltcliffe Vermount. The Dam is Rucie B one of Ardleas best cows. Rucie B is Grand Dam of AI Bull Ardlea Dan.
Lot 29 €3,500 for the high SBV February 2010 born Ardlea Felicia, out of as French Dam and Sired by Elite Abel a Grahams Samson son out of an Ideal 23 cow.
